BIG PINK Birthday Celebrations!
Feb 28, 2011
Windsor Farmers’ Market celebrates its sixth birthday on the 5th March
We are delighted this year to be joined by Cancer Research UK and the Race for Life Team who are going to turn our market pink. Race for Life is the most successful female only fundraising event in the UK, where women come together to walk, jog or run 5km. A fifth of Cancer Research UK’s income is generated through Race for Life, so our ambition this year is to recruit 1 million women and raise £80million for our life-saving work. We hope 7,500 ladies will take part in Windsor Race for Life 2011, raising £724,000 for the lifesaving work of our doctors, scientists and nurses
Come and join the stall-holders in celebrating this fantastic event, take part in our instant raffle, tickets are being given away FREE with every purchase, with instant prizes, tickets are strictly limited.
Local restaurateur and celebrated TV chef Antony Worrall Thompson who is a passionate advocate of local food for local people says “As a patron of TVFM, I am tickled pink that Race for Life is joining the Windsor Farmers' Market for their 6th birthday. Come and support them next month - both need your support"
Susan Gowland, a local Windsor resident who manages the market on behalf of Thames Valley Farmers' Market Co-operative says: “Most families are touched by cancer at some point in their lives, and the work Cancer Research does is invaluable, so come and join us for the day, not only can you buy wonderful genuine local produce with a proven provenance, you get a chance to win an instant prize and you really can make a difference in the fight against cancer”.
“We are as always very grateful to the Windsor & Eton Town Partnership for their continuing support for the market, our local producers and the local economy. St Leonard’s Road is a great site and we’re firmly established here as part of the Windsor community with other local businesses”
